Hi, I'm Andrew! 👋

Thanks for being here. And by “here,” I mean wherever you’re reading these words in this exact moment. Maybe at work or a coffee shop, perhaps in your living room or the loo. Wherever it is, welcome!

Engineering Humor

I’m a former engineer turned humorist, author, and accidental expert on making work suck less. I’ve spent the last decade helping over 100,000 people at organizations like NASA, the UN, and the FBI use humor to be more effective and less stressed.

I also have a viral TEDx talk with more than 15 million views (only half of which were from my mom
), so if you’re thinking I look familiar, it’s probably that. Or you’re just confusing me for a Skinny Hugh Jackman.

15 million views and counting

This newsletter is for anyone who's ever rolled their eyes at a pointless meeting, contemplated throwing their laptop out the window, or wondered, “does work really have to be this way?”

Spoiler: it doesn’t. It can be so much more fun, and so much more effective.

The Funny Thing About That

Each week (ish), I share practical tips, reflective rants, and pun-filled perspectives on how to:

  • Make work more human (and occasionally hilarious)

  • Use humor as a skill, not just a personality trait

  • Be more productive without sacrificing your soul (or hobbies)

  • Laugh through the chaos that is modern work/life/etc.

Sometimes I get vulnerable. Sometimes I get very nerdy. Often, I get punny. Always, I aim to make it useful and fun.

Join the Fun

Life’s too short for bad meetings and humor is too powerful to be left to the comedians.

So, if you're a thoughtful overachiever, aspiring humorist, or just someone who wants to make work suck a little less, congrats. You’re in the right place.

Can’t wait for the next newsletter? Here are some of fan favorites:
